Guidelines for Project Presentations

Good presentations will:

  1. Be organized and professional:
    • Cover: introduction; main parts project; conclusion.
    • Know which group member will handle which part of the presentation
    • Practice your talk several times
    • Keep to time limit 15 minutes plus 5 minutes for handouts plus Q/A with audience = 20mins
           
    • Behave and present professionally and stay on-topic
  2. Contain mathematics content, and briefly explain:
    • What questions you analyzed quantitatively
    • What mathematical/quantitative tools you used to answer
    • Answers or partial answers you found
    • Use proper mathematical terms, notation, graphs (with labels) etc.
  3. Incorporate proper presentation skills. Presentation should be
    • Clear and easy to understand (without "dumbing-down" ; see B.)
    • Precise
    • Informative
    • Interesting
