Hi Andrea, Steve, Suzanne, and Paul: [and Hi Stacey!]

Here's the schedule for tomorrow (we'll allow ourselves to "bend" it
by a few minutes, but here's our stencil):

======================================================================
9:00-9:15 Welcome and Intro (Harel) -- VinH 16
9:15-9:35 Overview of Boolean Arithmetic (Mike) -- VinH 16
9:35-9:45   Break
======================================================================
9:45-9:50 Walk to Lind 26, settle into groups of two
9:50-10:30  Activity #2 (see below)
10:30-10:40 Break
======================================================================
10:40-11:45 Activity #3 (see below)
11:45-12:00 Return to VinH 16, very brief closure, evals
======================================================================

In particular, we don't need VinH 1,2, or 20, as Mike is perfectly
happy doing his talk in VinH 16.

Activity #2:

See http://www.math.umn.edu/~barzilai/b/worksheet.html This will be printed out in hard copy as instructions for the students. This Worksheet instructs the students to go to http://www.math.umn.edu/~barzilai/b/ and to click on the items there in specificed order once they have answered certain questions on their (paper) worksheet.

Activity #3:

We will either give them a printout of http://www.math.umn.edu/~barzilai/b/circ.html or just give them the URL "circ.html" and have them use the Java "Build your Own Circuit" Virtual Laboratory there. The students could easily use this JHU (let alone this and the backup Java lab at Hobart and William Smith College URL) for more than the time aloted, so if #1 or #2 finish early, there should be plenty here to keep students busy, so long as we don't have machines at both JHU and HWS crashing/unreachable, in which case we have still more backup sites. Steve, Suzanne, Paul, please look at these URLs. Any other question, feel free to email me or Mike. Harel
