Summer 2005 Workshop

What:

  • An opportunity to learn much more about the ADEPT program, first-hand, in a hands-on 3-day workshop
  • An opportunity to hear about ADEPT from teachers who have experienced it in the ADEPT classroom, from teachers who have acted as Teaching Assistants for ADEPT; and from Math supervisors
  • Experience ADEPT mathematical content and pedagogical aspects first hand in sessions led by various ADEPT instructors, often teamed with teachers who have experienced these materials themselves

  • Learn from teachers who have taken ADEPT how they have implemented the content, pedagogy, and MLP concepts from ADEPT into their own classrooms in their schools
  • Participate in small-group breakout sessions as well as large-group discussions
  • Learn more about the Modified Lesson Plans (MLPs) format

  • Explore how MLPs can be used as a stepping-stone towards Japanese style Lesson Study

When: Friday June 25th through Tue June 29, 2005

Where: On the Eastern Shore of Maryland, hosted by Salisbury University (optional day-trip to beautiful Assateague National Seashore including Assateague Island beach where ponies roam free)
